Read below about how PSHP is being set up in full consultation with the industry

At an inaugural meeting in March 2006 a wide consultation process took place to facilitate the formation of lead bodies. (click here for consultation letter) Four proposed lead bodies were established:

  • Sport horses and ponies - A new body to be set up in conjunction with British Breeding (see below for news on how this is progressing in more detail)
  • Recreational horses and ponies - British Horse Society
  • Native and indigenous horses and ponies - British Horse Society
  • Racing thoroughbreds - Thoroughbred Breeders' Association
