Para Sport Event 2015

Inspired by the success of National Paralympic Day earlier this year, Hoof, the British Equestrian Federation’s participation programme, is bringing several para sports together to give even more people the chance to see and try a range of disability sports at the first ever Para Sport Event 2015.

Hosted at Moulton College in Northamptonshire, the free regional event will celebrate the disability sports on offer and also introduce people to para sports by giving them the opportunity to find out more and try some out for themselves. From 9.30am on Sunday 25 October attendees will have the chance to give a variety of Paralympic sports a go.

Sports on the day include: para-equestrian dressage, para-cycling, para-sailing, wheelchair basketball, para-rowing, archery and para-equestrian driving. 

Timetable - 25 October 2015

9.30am  Gates Open – The Cafeteria will be open to purchase refreshments throughout the day

10.00am – 12.00pm Main Indoor Equestrian Arena: Introduction to Para-Equestrian Dressage – Demonstration by para-equestrian dressage riders about how to get started in the sport and including top tips and advice from Paralympic gold medallist Sophie Wells MBE! 

11.00am – 3.00pm Pitsford Sports Hall: The sports hall will be open for you to get information from experts form a number of para sports all in one building! We  will be joined by British Cycling, British Rowing, British Sailing Sailability, Wheelchair Basketball and Para -equestrian Dressage and here will be an opportunity for you to ‘have a go’ at some of the sports on offer.

Sophie Wells will also be on hand for coaching advice with the Hoof mechanical horse at the Para-Equestrian Dressage stand.

2.00pm – 4.00pm Main Indoor Equestrian Arena: A second chance to see the Introduction to Para-Equestrian Dressage – Demonstration by para-equestrian dressage riders about how to get started in to the sport.

4.30pm Gates Close
