What is BEFRED?
BEFRED is a free website, sponsored by the British Equestrian Federation, it contains abstracts of research carried out by undergraduates, postgraduates and post doctoral researchers into equine topics. Plus sufficient information to enable you to contact the establishment for more information.

BEFRED went live on 22nd March 2007 and this page contains details of what it is, how the consultation process worked and how you can get involved in institution BETA testing the new site.
Who uses BEFRED?
- Undergraduates, postgraduates and post doctoral researchers researching equine topics.
- Those running riding schools, livery yards, breeding establishments, trekking centres, competition yards, competition disciplines, charitable and welfare enterprises seeking information.
- Companies selling to the industry including feed, tack, clothing, veterinary products, insurance, buildings, equipment, advertising. National and local government departments seeking information.
What can BEFRED do for you?
Institution BETA testing
Institution BETA testing will start in mid-January, commencing with those Institutions and organisations who have already volunteered to upload historic data, in order to test the inputting system. If you would like to be a part of this, which provides a good opportunity to upload your historical data, please contact Georgina Crossman at gkcrossman@hotmail.com
