Lead Co-ordinator for growing Participation
As a Business Graduate and qualified teacher, Sonia has worked in a variety of roles across the public and private sectors. These have ranged from Operations Director with an independent Leisure Club Chain, Head of Leisure Operations for a large Sports Trust, through to National Network Manager with SkillsActive, one of the BEF's key partners. Currently alongside her role at the BEF which centers around looking after the North West & West Midlands region she manages her own Performance coaching and Leisure Management Consultancy. Having enjoyed all the benefits of participating in Equestrianism from childhood to that of a young adult, Sonia is well placed to take an unclouded view on equestrianism and act as a National lead on Growing new participants and encouraging people to 'get back into' our sport.

There are some exciting equestrian events are taking place within the Cheshire county over forthcoming months, including.... Bolesworth Classic, 9th - 12th June 2011 The Bolesworth Showjumping Classic, the UK's most innovative and entertaining equestrian event, which will run from Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 12th at Bolesworth Castle, near Tattenhall in Cheshire. Last year, 18,000 spectators watched some of the world's top showjumping and event riders compete for a prize fund of nearly £60,000, with Nick Skelton winning the Aquashield Grand Prix and Anthony Condon the Liverpool Volkswagen Eventers' Grand Prix. British Masters Olympic Qualifying Event, 1st - 3rd July 2011, Southview Arena Although no longer to be held at Chester Racecourse, this international event has been retained within Cheshire and will now be held at Southview Equestrian Centre.
