BEF says yes to NED

Over the last three months a working group of BEF Board directors has undertaken a rigorous assessment of the challenges and risks associated with taking the lead to complete and launch NED Online.

On 15th August the Board agreed that BEF should accept the leadership role.  DEFRA, both at ministerial and official levels, has been very supportive of the NED development and BEF will now work with DEFRA to finalise the contractual relationships. Once this has been done BEF will establish an independent company, NED Ltd, in BEF's ownership and will recruit and appoint volunteer directors who will oversee the operation of the company.

NED Online will be launched initially to a Limited User Group to fully test its capacity before a public launch date is decided.
