World Class PerformanceMembership of World Class Performance is based on past and present results, and the rider's perceived potential to contribute to team success at major championships. The squad is selected following discussions between the Discipline Selectors, Performance Managers and the Performance Director.
World Class Development (Start & Potential)The World Class Development programme is lottery funded through UK Sport and is designed to select and support talented riders and combinations that have the perceived ability to deliver medal winning performances on the world stage for Great Britain in the future. It underpins the World Class Performance Programme which supports elite preparation and performance at senior international levels.

Riders who are eligible to ride for Great Britain & Northern Ireland, aged between 14 and 30 (on first application) and who see themselves as having the exceptional talent and dedication to ride and win at Olympic level in 2012, 2016 and beyond have the opportunity to be assessed through a three stage process:
- Stage 1: First stage applications: CLOSED
- Stage 2: Second stage applications: open 20th July 2010 to 24th August 2010
- Stage 3: Selection Trials (see Selection Policy for dates)
Please note: The written application process involves stage one and stage two -
BOTH stages must be completed in order to be considered for stage three.
