British Equestrian Federation
Board Director - Communications and Marketing
The BEF, working in conjunction with its member bodies, is regarded as the national governing body for British equestrian sport by our external agencies. The Federation seeks a Non Executive Board Director to assume responsibility for the direction and strategy of the BEF for Communications and Marketing and its future success.
A Director is sought with experience and competency in this area, who has the drive and commitment to deliver on the Communications and Marketing portfolio.
The Board Director will further develop and implement the strategy for this area of the BEF's work and budget to support it. The successful candidate will be elected by and responsible to the BEF Council, representing the Federation's 16 member bodies and will be supported by the BEF's executive staff. Together with the other BEF Board Members he/she will have collective responsibility for all Federation activities.
Board meetings will be held at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire and will take place around six times a year. In addition to which, Directors will provide guidance and support to the executive team both in the office and remotely.
This position is voluntary, with expenses, and offers the opportunity for close involvement in an exciting phase of the development of equestrian sport. Knowledge, therefore, of the equestrian industry or of another sport, whilst not essential, would be an advantage.
All board members are expected to meet the highest standards of integrity. A fit and proper purpose assessment is performed on all board members as part of the recruitment process. This will include a self declaration covering bankruptcy, a CRB check and convictions and identity check.
