Useful Local Organisations
Volunteer Centres
There is a network of over 280 Quality-Accredited, locally based Volunteer Centres nationwide, which specialise in the promotion of volunteering opportunities and the support and development of the participation of volunteers in its area. Any volunteer-involving organisation can advertise for volunteers free of charge and individuals wishing to become volunteers can find out more about the range of activities available to them.
Have you signed up with your local Volunteer Centre?
Not only do they offer a 'brokerage' service (they'll put prospective volunteers in touch with you) but they can provide a useful source of support and information, ranging from networking opportunities through to information on training (both contributory and free) and reward schemes. There's no charge to get involved and they will publicise your need for volunteers.
